Why are some plays available in digital format while others are available only as print-published books? Many titles are only published in book form, but the number available in digital formats is increasing. We may be able to help you locate the play through another publisher. If the play is unpublished, we may be able to contact the playwright on your behalf. Contact us with your query.

Some of the playscripts for sale are in manuscript form while others are published as physical books. Under the pricing on each play page you will also find informaton on which format this publication is sold in. Some other suppliers to the site are traditional publishers, with titles often published in book form. The availability of extracts is at the discretion of the relevant supplier. We provide extracts wherever possible. Select your plays and add them to your shopping cart. For scripts ordered in digital format, once payment is processed you will receive a download link on the final page of the checkout process and, within minutes, you'll be sent an emailed receipt that also contains a link to your script download.

For orders in print format, you should allow up to 14 days for dispatch and delivery from the relevant supplier. Check to see that you have received this email. We would normally expect that you receive this email within minutes. Depending on the quantity of your order, goods will be sent via courier or using Australia Post and its contracted carriers. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide a tracking number for most orders. Our shopping cart facility will calculate postage and handling payable when you fill in your delivery details and click 'calculate'.

APT is a shopfront for a collective of independent Australian publishers and goods are shipped directly from their respective offices.

It is for this reason that goods purchased in a single order may arrive separately. In addition to PayPal and credit card, we also allow shoppers to generate an invoice for their order, payable by direct deposit. All prices are quoted in Australian dollars. If you are an overseas customer, our shopping cart will debit the equivalent amount in Australian dollars from your credit card account. We make every effort to ensure that titles are promptly removed from the site if they become unavailable but orders for unavailable titles may occasionally slip through the net.

In this event, we will contact you to advise when the title will become available or to arrange a refund. A Membership is a paid feature of APT that allows users to read the full text of large number of scripts online. A Membership allows you to explore the depth and diversity of Australian playwriting while taking the guess work out of your next script purchase. You can also build a personal reading list with notes and earn points toward free scripts. When you have logged in with your username and password, you can search for scripts as you would normally.

Once we receive your production request, we will contact you with further details as quickly as possible -- usually within just a few days. Please note that the following rules only apply to amateur groups except K schools performing a full-length play or full-length musical, or a professional group performing any title. Before your show: To obtain performance rights, you must pay the performance fee indicated on your invoice. This is your up-front minimum royalty payment. Immediately after your final performance, mail Playscripts a statement of box office receipts signed by your organization's managing director or bookkeeper, along with any royalties due. In short: You owe the writer at least a flat fee per performance, and at most some percentage of your actual revenue.

It's permission to film your performance. Just like you need permission to perform your show, you also need permission to record it. This license gives you permission to videotape the performance for archival purposes only. You may make one copy for each cast and crew member, but no further distribution is allowed.

Availability will vary from play to play. If a play is available for archival video licensing, it will generally be listed as an item alongside performances during the order process. If a play you're performing doesn't have an archival video license to purchase online, feel free to contact us to see if one is available. The cost will vary from play to play. Simply add it to your shopping cart when placing your order for performances.

The short answer is no. Video licensing does not give you permission to broadcast or post your video online. If you would like to request this permission, feel free to contact us. Note this may carry an additional fee.
