What do wineskins look like
People remain old wineskins because they still enjoy old wine. They enjoy what's familiar to them. They can't leave their comfort zones. They aren't willing to trade what they find comfortable and trustworthy for something that can only be done through faith. The Lord Jesus Himself said that old wineskins stay that way because they can't embrace the new wine:. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. We've got to let go of the boxes of familiarity and comfort we've stuffed ourselves in.

New wine and old wineskins Because we're unfamiliar with ancient practices, sometimes it's difficult for modern readers to understand Jesus's parables.
Pay attention to the fruit Jesus encouraged contemporaries to quit focusing on how His behavior fit in the current religious climate. That's why when John sends His disciples to ask whether they should be looking for someone else, Jesus says this: "Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.
And this is the same standard Jesus used for determining who belonged to Him: "Watch out for false prophets. An issue has occurred. Why or why not? How do I think it will make me feel?
