When does nc deer season end
Gun During the gun season the following are legal weapons: bows and arrows, crossbows, and slingbows, blackpowder firearms, shotguns, rifles, and handguns all described on General Hunting Regulations.
Dogs Hunters may use dogs to hunt deer during open deer seasons in counties indicated on the map on Deer Zone Maps , and to retrieve a wounded deer. See General Hunting Regulations for details. Bag Limits The season and possession bag limit is six deer, two of which may be antlered, and four of which may be antlerless. There is no daily bag limit. Antlerless deer harvested and reported on Bonus Antlerless Harvest Report Cards do not count towards the season or possession limit.
Bonus Antlerless Harvest Report Cards allow for the harvest of two additional antlerless deer per card. Antlerless deer harvested under the Deer Management Assistance Program DMAP and tagged with harvest tags provided with the program are not included in normal statewide bag limits.

Deer of either sex may be taken anytime during the blackpowder firearm deer season in areas in the maximum either-sex gun season, and in and east of Polk, Rutherford, McDowell, Burke, Caldwell, Watauga and Ashe counties includes game lands. Most gun either-sex seasons fall under one of the following four categories in North Carolina: Maximum: Either-sex harvest is allowed the entire gun season. Moderate: Either-sex harvest is allowed the first open day of the regular season through the second Friday thereafter.
We begin scouting on the second Saturday in August. Archery hunts are run concurrently with military training; that is, one may sign out to hunt an area that may potentially have units actively training. Therefore, we do NOT have an open area list for archery hunting. Instead, the hunter may simply sign out to any lettered training area unless explicitly closed or archery only area, even during gun season.

Hunters also are required to wear blaze orange while hunting with a bow on Sunday during the black powder and gun seasons.
Wildlife officials strongly urge anyone using the woods during hunting season to wear blaze orange, or brightly colored clothing. Dogs should also wear a blaze orange scarf or vest, available at pet shops and outdoor outfitter stores. Reach me : KChavez CitizenTimes. Read more outdoors news : www. Facebook Twitter Email.
