When was final fantasy 10 made

One of the notable differences was the change in the game's logo, with the logo shown in depicting Yuna on the side and what appears to be an aeon or Sin in the background top image. Additionally, in early footage, Tidus had black hair instead of blonde and the game appeared to be true 3D, with players being able to rotate the camera around Tidus.

The details in the character models were far more refined, with there being noticeable changes in Tidus's clothing and hair when he moved or wind blew.

Lastly, the level system shown was more like that of previous Final Fantasy titles, unlike the Sphere Grid system that was ultimately used. Final Fantasy X was a game of firsts in many ways. It was the first Final Fantasy title to launch on the PlayStation 2, with the more powerful console allowing it to also become the first Final Fantasy title to utilize fully three-dimensional areas and voice acting.

Additionally, it was the first Final Fantasy game to ever get a direct sequel, with Final Fantasy X-2 releasing in for PlayStation 2. The sequel followed Yuna , Rikku, and new companion Paine as they traveled across Spira looking for Tidus while trying to resolve political conflicts in the area.

Early ideas for the game's premise were quite different from the final version. Initially, the key development theme was "inevitable death. Though this idea was scrapped, it was carried over in some way, as the fate of the Summoners is to die young while fighting Sin.

Another early concept was that the premise would revolve a deadly disease spreading throughout the world. Yuna was set to take on the role of a nurse who follows Yevon's teachings and treats patients while on her pilgrimage, with Yevon being more like a Red Cross type of organization. The planned plot twist was that the treatment method for the disease was the real cause of death in those afflicted.

Final Fantasy X was the first game to have strong Asian influences in its visual design, with all of the other games up until that point being quite foreign from a Japanese point of view. The graphics, story, and gameplay were all in a class of their own that was especially mind-blowing to witness more than two decades ago.

The characters were definitely the strongest part of Final Fantasy 10 , with Auron being universally beloved by anyone who played Final Fantasy After all, this grizzled veteran's inherent swagger made him one of the easiest characters to like in the game, and his amazing backstory certainly helped increase his coolness factor even further. Here are some of the most obscure pieces of trivia that most people don't know about Auron. Most people who've played Final Fantasy 10 know that he's actually an Unsent who wants to avenge the death of his friends before passing into the Farplane.

However, what most people don't know is the original candidate to be an Unsent was Tidus. Unfortunately, The Sixth Sense released around the same time with a similar premise. Since the twist felt way too familiar in Final Fantasy 10, the role of the Unsent was given to Auron instead. Funnily enough, most people still find Auron to be way older than his official age of 35 years. This is mainly due to his look, which is way too mature even for a person in his mid-thirties.

This is because Nomura didn't decide on Auron's age until the very last moment after his character design was already finalized. Kazushige Nojima himself stated that they were so reliant on Nomura for the character ages that they didn't even bother to check up with him for the same.

Auron is meant to be the silent go-getter who gets stuff done without any nonsense. However, he's also the only character in the game who can guide Tidus and the other members of the party due to his experience. As a result, a character who was supposed to speak only when required ended up with the second-highest number of dialogues in the entire game. The only person with more dialogues than him was Tidus himself. There were several early concepts of Auron that were toyed around with by developers.

Instead, combat is by-the-numbers. Click here, select that — use a potion, revive your useless friends. Playing Final Fantasy X in is a fascinating experience, because it reveals so much about the gaming of futures past. When it first released, Final Fantasy X was the pinnacle of RPG design, a shiny beacon beckoning the industry toward a hopeful future. It begs the question — did we really need another remaster of Final Fantasy X and X-2 when gaming is so spoiled for choice?

This feature was brought to you by a Nintendo Switch retail copy provided by the folks at Bandai Namco Entertainment. Playing Final Fantasy X for the first time in is fascinating and frustrating.
